Artist K Camp Reflects on His Music and Health at Summerfest 2024 in Milwaukee

Putting on A Show

Artist K Camp is a Milwaukee-born and Atlanta-raised artist who first came to fame in 2013 with the hit song “Money Baby”. He was signed to Interscope Records but has been performing as an independent artist since 2020.

The artist performed at the 2024 Summerfest in Milwaukee and could be seen not only on stage but in the crowd with his fans. For him, what makes his shows unique is the connection he makes with the crowd.

“Connecting with the crowd, being engaged with them, and of course, there’s going to be some shows where not everybody knows your music so you just have to sell it and be enthusiastic on stage and just be a star,” said K Camp.

Bouncing Back

Towards the end of 2023, the artist had to plan for surgery on his most vital asset, his vocal cords. K Camp had announced that they had found a non-cancerous polyp and would have to go through a removal procedure. It has since been over six months post-operation that the artist has returned to the stage and performed with the same energy and intensity as before.

The artist has attributed his recovery to regular vocal warmups and tea but lends his advice to other artists to help keep themselves in shape as their career progresses.

“Just take care of yourself. Stay in the gym, stay healthy, when you gotta go to work make sure you’re prepared for it,” said K Camp.
