Milwaukee Artists Join Together to Celebrate the Evolution of Milwaukee Music at the Inaguarual One World Music Festival

Honoring Rap Generations

Rap and Hip-Hop found their roots in New York around the 1970s and within over 50 years, it has become a global sensation with new artists coming from every part of the world. Milwaukee is no exception and has been producing rappers that take social media by storm and have trademarked a unique sound, dance styles, and personalities that have uplifted the city.

The inaugural One World Music Festival was held at the Riverside Theater on April 26, 2024, to celebrate the evolution of Milwaukee’s music scene and honor the city’s rising stars and rap legends.

Milwaukee’s Music Scene

One World Music Festival is the product of Our Money LLC, owned by Anthony Milons and Tierra McClain. The partners are dedicated to uplifting local artists and their mission to bring Milwaukee together through local talent.

The festival was designed to bring community members of all ages to celebrate music and appreciate the city’s creative growth.

“We wanted something our kids could come to and they listen to the newer generation, it was important for us to show them how it started and so came the special tributes like Coo Coo Cal and Baby Drew,” said Milons. “Then we decided to make a timeline … the evolution of MKE music. We had the adults battle the kids and it created memories for families to share.”

Artists included rising stars such as J.P., Big Frank, and Chicken P, and included Milwaukee legends such as Coo Coo Cal and Ray Nitti.

“I hope these artists start taking their craft to the next level. I’m hoping that local businesses and entrepreneurs will assist to push them to the top,” said Milons. “We can all win. Let’s get more tourists coming to see us and leaving money in our city, eating at our restaurants, using our services, and pouring it back into our community. This is our future, our city, our money.
