What to Know About Jack Harlow’s First Inaugural Gazebo Festival in Louisville, Kentucky

Keeping the Spirt of Forecastle Festival Going

The Inaugural Gazebo Festival took place in the city of Louisville, Kentucky, on May 25, 2025, in the center of Waterfront Park; day two was canceled due to bad weather. The event is the first big festival since the city’s Forecastle—a three-day music, art, and activism festival founded in 2002—paused in 2023. Gazebo, started by Louisville native rapper Jack Harlow, had a jam-packed lineup of 26 acts including headliner SZA, artists Vince Staples, Larry June, and James Dean were among the performers.

There was a plethora of sponsors for the event including LifeWTR, Jim Beam, Republic Bank, Tres Generaciones, Rockstar, My Muse, Kroger, Thorntons, and TIXR. New Balance was also among the sponsors, as Jack Harlow has been one of their ambassadors since 2022.

The festival grounds featured local food vendors, including Gus’s World-Famous Fried Chicken, Four Pegs, Kizito Cookies, and more, providing attendees with a taste of what Louisville had to offer.

Getting to Know the Artists

Local acts like 21-year-old DJ SHY!!! had the opportunity to showcase his skills in his hometown. The Gazebo Festival was one of his first performances, and he told Carvd N Stone how he prepared.

“Lots of overthinking, but eventually you get to it, you’re gonna figure it out. I just had to pray a little bit. I had to try to figure out what imma do. Eventually, I’m like, alright, this is it; this is what imma spin; imma just go with the flow,” SHY!!! said.

Other artists like Karri, a San Francisco native, performed as well. As a newer artist who has been going viral on social media for his songs like “only u,” the platforms serve as another avenue for exposure.

“It definitely helps. You know it’s a blessing just to have people have eyes on you and listen to your shit cause a year ago I wasn’t here,” said Karri.

Day Two Canceled

On day two, the festivities had to be canceled due to inclement weather. The official Gazebo page notified fans via Instagram that they had “made the very difficult decision to cancel the remainder of the Gazebo Festival.” Sunday ticket holders will be granted a full refund, while all weekend ticket holders will receive a 50 percent refund that will be provided within 30 days.

Jack Harlow took to Instagram to express his gratitude by saying, “I’m trying to focus on the positive because all I felt was happiness yesterday. I’m grateful for our flawless first day and for the way this city came together. Thank you so much. I’m sorry.”
