FREE Books for All Ages
Carvd N Stone Foundation, the nonprofit arm of the national positive news company Carvd N Stone, will be giving away over 400 free books written by authors of color for its Authors of Color Book Fair on July 19, 2026. The Authors of Color Book Fair will be held at McGovern Park in Milwaukee from 1 to 4 p.m.
The books are for all ages.
This is Carvd N Stone Foundation’s first book fair. In addition to free books, the book fair will offer free horse rides provided by the Milwaukee Buffalo Soliders, live DJing by DJ DripSweat, author activations by La’Daja Miller, and a 10-minute performance by artist Genesis Renji.
A free snack bar will also be offered to guests.
Since February of this year, Carvd N Stone Foundation has been collecting books through its Authors of Color Book Drive and purchasing books from Black-owned bookstores. The first Authors of Color Book Drive was held in 2019, through Carvd N Stone. With the creation of the Foundation, the Carvd N Stone brand expanded its reach.
“I have been reading since I was four years old, so I know the joys and wonders books can bring a person. In a time when so many people are stuck on screens, I think it’s important that we focus on reading from actual books. I am so happy to be able to spearhead this initiative,” said Carvd N Stone CEO and Carvd N Stone Foundation President Nyesha Stone. “This will be the first of many book fairs. We plan to start in Milwaukee and move to other cities across the country because everyone deserves a free book.”
Over 300 people are expected to attend the fair.
Carvd N Stone Foundation’s Authors of Color Book Fair is in partnership with Milwaukee Parks Foundation, and is sponsored by the Greater Milwaukee Foundation and the Milwaukee Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Registration for the book fair is not required, but it helps keep count.

Nyesha Stone founded Carvd N Stone in 2017 to cover positive news while attending the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Stone has a B.A. in Journalism. She has raised over $30,000 to award grants and scholarships. She has also been featured in ESSENCE and worked with the American Black Film Festival.
