Black Couple Held Grand Opening for their First George Webb Restaurant Located in Wisconsin

First Time Restaurant Owners

Wife and husband Kenyetta and Thomas Frier are not new to the life of entrepreneurship and owning businesses. Under their belts, they own Extreme Cleaning Services and Working Klass Scrubs. Earlier this month, they held a grand opening for their latest venture as owners of a George Webb, a breakfast and dining restaurant. This is the couple’s first restaurant making them one of the few Black owners of a George Webb in the state of Wisconsin.

The Frier’s George Webb is located on Milwaukee’s Southside at 3133 S. 92nd St.; this location has been closed since November 2023.

As the new owners, Kenyetta said they are focusing on being present owners.

“We’re giving [customers] things they did not get [previously],” said Kenyetta.

The restaurant officially opened on April 1, 2024, and was well-received by the community with there being no open seats, according to the Friers.

Their location is open seven times a week with the option to dine in, carry out, or Doordash.

“We would have never thought we would have such a huge, positive impact by owning a George Webb Restaurant. Y’all love us and we love y’all too,” Kenyetta wrote in a Facebook post.

More Locations

George Webb was founded in Milwaukee in 1948 and now there are over 20 locations in the state of Wisconsin. The couple plans to purchase more George Webb locations.

As they continue growing as restaurant owners, they are open to constructive criticism. They also hope to have a positive impact on the community.

“Anything is possible,” said Thomas.
